“If you don’t have time to read, you don’t have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.”
― Stephen King
I have always been a writer. I grew up dreaming of visiting exotic places and writing great stories that everyone wanted to read. I love reading. To me it is something remarkable about being able to completely lose yourself in a story to the point that you can’t even sleep until you find out what happens next. I believe my love for reading comes from my wild imagination. I can honestly say I have an over active imagination. The hardest thing in the world is putting something that you see so vividly in your head on paper … in writing … and to describe it in a way that people can see it exactly like you. I love fiction books … non-fiction just doesn’t do it for me because we are constantly trapped in reality. What is the fun of reemerging yourself in something that you are trying to take a break from? Stories about vampires, adventures, schools for witches and warlocks and worlds that exist among ours … that we can’t see … it’s something so exciting about that.
Now at this point in my life I don’t feel as though I have the focus to put my super creative imagination on paper … into a book. I believe something like that takes discipline that I just do not have at this moment. I decided to think of something that could help me eventually get to that place and a realized that blogging would be a great starting point. Blogging takes focus, dedication, planning and creativity. A lifestyle blog lets you write about all kind of things without any concrete set of rules. That is exactly where my head is … all over the place BUT in a very organized manner. I know, I know. It sounds confusing.
I love to learn, I love to create and I love to tell people about what I have learned and created. So what would be the best way to go about that? BLOGGING!
I actually created my first blog called Pride.Drive.Ambition in a college course. I only created a few blog posts but I received an A on the assignment and realized that I enjoyed doing it. The idea of Beautie In Balance stems from this assignment as it has the same concept … improving yourself and obtaining your goals. The main difference is that Beautie In Balance is geared specifically towards women and compiles everything that is “Woman” into one place. I write about things that I KNOW about and I write about things that I am LEARNING about. Another thing that I really wanted to do it spotlight “regular” (and by regular I mean super extraordinary woman who aren’t “famous” or “well known”) who could possibly inspire other women who are struggling or scared to follow their dreams and ambitions. So basically I wanted to do my part in creating an environment of “girl power” and “women unity” which is something that I think the world seriously needs.
Blogging is just the beginning of everything that I want to do in regards to influencing and inspiring the world. I just needed a starting point. One thing that I have noticed it that it is SO EASY to see the end game … the final product … but figuring out where to start? That’s the hard part. I want this blog to grow organically. Change when needed. Stay the same if that is what it is. I want it to grow as I grow but at the same time keeping the same goals in mind.
That’s life. It has never been a destination but a continuous journey of learning, accomplishing things, failing horribly and self-discovery. I hope you enjoy learning how to balancing it all with me … even though we may drop everything a time or two.
“And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.”

Until next time Beauties …
